Sometimes, less is more.  As you can see from the picture above, the CodeBoy has a single control on the front to turn it on and off and set the speed.  That's it.  No batteries or power cord to worry about, no distracting sidetone to turn off, just plug in your paddle (and/or key), connect it to your transmitter, and away you go.  Compare to more "advanced" keyers which require you to keep the manual handy at all times!
